Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Services Lead (Waterfront) to help grow our infrastructure and waterfront development services from our Toronto office. A hybrid or fully remote work schedule may be available at the Company’s discretion. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan within the infrastructure and waterfront development services.
  • Collaborate and assist growth of Geosyntec’s Waterfront business across Geosyntec, with an emphasis on the Canadian markets.
  • Lead proposal preparation for infrastructure and waterfront development services (including geotechnical and environmental).
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
  • Manage challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.
  • Project and task management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Preparing and/or implementing designs and strategies for sediment, and waterfront projects.
  • Management and mentoring of early career and mid-career staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and technical report writing on a variety of contaminated sediment, remediation, and waterfront projects.
  • Reviewing and managing written document production.
  • At times, job may also include fieldwork including construction management, site inspection, and contractor oversight.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or a similar field of study. (required)
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study. (preferred)
  • Professional certification (e.g. PMP / P.Eng / P.Geo). (desirable)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of applicable regulations. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Proven leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
